I did the winter of 2023-2024. Bees came through that winter fine.
Are you doing the same this year? We're planning on using sugar blocks, but it might be nice to also use fondant. Would you mind if I shared your post on my beekeeping thread?

I probably will. The winter I used it, two of the hives (Italians) cleaned it up very well. The third hive (Russians) used very little of it.

Although I have never used Fondant I know of others who have with success. Maybe if we had a gas stove I would. Tried it on our Electric stove and stood there stirring forever to get the temp up. I could "cheat" and get it a Bakers Supply, but then it becomes more money then it's worth.

I don't have the option of a gas stove here. I am stuck with electric but can say that the glass stovetops with the double elements can get really hot and not in too long of a time period.
