I agree with Silkychicken. Unfortunately, BB turkeys are designed to be meat, nothing else and if their legs cannot support their weight, they should go to freezercamp, before they have a heart attack or get sores on their breast from the damp ground. They are bred to grow very fast and get tremendous double sized breasts. That is why, if you don't want heart and/leg problems, you have to limit their intake so the legs can grow at a rate to compensate for their Heavy weight bodies. In the long run, they will not be breeding material, as they would have to be AI to reproduce. They are designed to be raised for only so long and go to freezer camp. Which is the long and short of this breed. If you want to raise Turkeys, you might want to start looking at heritage breeds, that you can raise as perpetual turkeys.

Hi! I'm raising a turkey for the first time. The purpose is to eat him, instead of having him as a pet. He's a male. A week ago he started to breath like a "chiken when is stressed out"...I gave Him aspirin with a seringe, but he just keep breathing like that. We also gave him a mix made with an egg and nettles. He got better...but today he keeps panting and doesnt get up...though he eats with apitite!
