I have 2 Two and a half month old hens that both cut their necks open. I have clean them out with VetricyN and put blu-kote on them And was wondering if it was okay to use a liquid bandage that's safe for the animals on their neck? Any advice would be helpful thank you.

Personally, I would clean them with either betadine or the vetericyn, and apply a plain antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin twice a day. Keep them separated until healing starts. Then the BluKote may be helpful. Do you know if this was caused by a sharp feeder, waterer, fencing, or possibly a rooster? I would look around to find the cause since it could happen again. Watch for infection (redness, swelling, pus, or a foul odor.) Sometimes green skin appears and can be bruising. Good luck.

thanks we found it was due to a sharp edge on the run going in the chicken coop. We fixed it right away!!! All these years and no one hurt now 2 in 3days.
