HELP, Need a home for a Rooster ASAP!

We have a beautiful young Rooster that we need to rehome ASAP. He is 4 months old and has started crowing. The city ordinance forbids roosters. We were told he was a hen at a local farmers market last month when we tried to rehome him then so we kept him and now he is crowing at an alarming rate! My neighbors are not happy! I really need to find somewhere to take this beautiful boy! Advice...PLEASE!

Roosters are hard to get rid of. What kind is he? You have better luck if he is a desired breed, but even then they are hard to sale. You can try putting an add on Craigslist or in your local feed store. Put an add here in the buy/sell/trade section. I don't know if this is an option, but you could harvest him yourself. He would make a good chicken soup or dumplings.

I was told he is a mixed breed. Does Animal Control take them?
He is really disrupting the neighbors.

I don't know if animal control takes them or not. There are so many unwanted roosters, I hope you can find him a home. If you can't you might have to cull him.

Call them, they might not take him but they may have a suggestion of how to get rid of him.
