Our bantam cracked her 18 day along egg!!! I can see the chick moving around in the egg and she is prone to cracking her eggs and eating them. Help me! Should I like suran wrap or is it a lost cause??? I will post a pic soon. Thanks!!

Remove it from the hen immediately. Can you post a pic of the egg? It will need to be put in an incubator too.

Yeah take the egg away from her asap. You can use candle wax to seal the egg. Ive never done it myself but seen it done in cases like this. Just light the candle and drip the melting wax on and around the crack to totally seal it, then let it dry for a few minutes just to be 100% sure. Then you will have to use an incubator because your hen will just break off the wax.

Wax works ok if they're broken early on in incubation, but this late in the game it's not going to do much. I would saran wrap over it, depending on how bad it is, and wait.

I set the egg in the incubator and I did not add wax to it.( My incubator was already on because there is some turkey eggs in it so it is the perfect temp and humidity already. ) I really hope this egg hatches.:fl:barnie
