Help! Need coop!

hey i have to baby chicks tha6 must be at least 4weeks aold and i'm trying to get them a hutch that will last throughout their lives but don't wanna spend alot. so what do we do? don't wanna spend alot but wanna have enough room but don't wanna commit to a $100 cage in case they die and i'm not looking to get more chicks.. HELP!

THIS is what I was looking at but it's $100 and do i need that for two little chicks to which i wanna have enough room for them to lay eggs,HELP!

I need to go out and get a pic but I have a tractor that I made for $40. Its 8x4x4 and works great for up to 3. It uses 2 sheets cheep flooring plywood and a 16' stock panel I got at TSC. It will not work in vary cold areas.

sweet! thanx we live in florida so doesn't get very cold here.especially this year our low was 50!​

i am using the ware chick-n-hutch and the pen for my 3 chicks. i think it will be plenty big for them when they grow up. i also plan to let mine free-range in the yard and use the pen when i need to keep them enclosed. the only bad thing about the pen is that it has to be attached to the hutch and has one open end. i screened in that end and move it around the yard for now.

I see skids for free all the time, grab 8 or so and shove straw in the middle, nail them together and wrap the whole thing in chicken wire, 2 for the lid and 2 for each side and 1 each end would make a 3 x 6 coop, you could poke a few bits of wood through to make a roost and you have something that will cost next to nothing. On the other hand you can build a fancy coop and if you decide not to keep the chickens you will have a very nice shed. craigslist turns up all sorts of great stuff (look under materials as well as free stuff) My brooder cost me $6 and that was for the screws and hinges. Nearly 80% of the coop has been free but the hardware cloth is making a huge dent in my budget. Look around for an old dog house or look at the coop designs for a tractor and then go scavenging for all you can find, you will ofter find if you tell people what you are doing they will have stuff they will donate for your project, be it hinges, wood, extra shingles, or even jsut nails and screws, some paint (the chickens don't mind if it's a funny colour

)
