Hi folks... i was given 2 10 day old quail last night who are very healthy except for 1 issue....each has only 1 leg. 1 is an a&m Coturnix who's doing great.
the other is a Bobwhite who is having a terrible time balancing. I know it's a crazy question ...but these are pets ....Does anyone have any idea as to how i could make an artificial leg for the B.W. or what to do to strengthen the leg she has or something...? I hate to put her down she already acts happy to see me whenever i get near ( probably cuz i help her with her balancing so she can eat better...) Any suggestions are welcome!

Could have been an incubating problem, or something genetic (happens alot from constant inbreeding, among other things) I purchased some jumbo eggs off of a man, i had 3 that were born without eyes  .

they're survivors of a rat attack at 2 days old.
i have been giving the Bobwhite baby "physical therapy" to strengthen the leg and teach it to balance better. i sure feel silly doing it but what can i say? The Coturnix is a little spend demon of his 1 leg! they like to cuddle into my hand ,make peeping noises and fall asleep ....ahhhhhhhhhh babies as precious!
