I need suggestions on how you would expand my coop, please. I'm not coming up with much that I'm happy with. We can't cut out any of the run so it would have to be on either side of the coop with another run, or something. I want everything connected but can't figure it out. There is about 5 feet on the right side before the goat pen. The left side has 20+ feet and only 5 feet in the back.

Chicken math got you too? I'm in the same delima right now myself. My coop and run is shaped alot like yours too. My entrance to the run though is on one of the sides. I am considering building another coop on the opposite end of the run from the existing one. You could do that too if you moved the door to the left side (my left looking at your picture) and then building the second coop on back on the end where the lawn chair and ladders are.

This will be my dilemma next summer. Our coop only houses four chickens and I already want more ( ours are 6 weeks old).
I know nothing about construction, but could you break out both sides and the back and just extend it as much as you need? I think whatever you do is going to be a lot of work.....but worth it! Good luck. I'm interested to find out what you end up doing.

I don't see why it wouldn't be easiest to come out to the left and just double the whole thing up, making a peaked roof. That's sort of the plan for our coop, if all goes well. Check our coop out, "Forman's Folly". If need be, we can come to the left of ours and double it up---make a few modifications to the doors and bada boom, bada bing! We are good to go!
