Help need your advice please

Hi all (I did post this on raising baby chicks, sorry still learning how to use this, der)

someone is selling a male quail and house and I am thinking about buying him. I will get him some hens but what worries me is that I wont eat the eggs knowing what he has been doing, you know what I mean. I only have hens at the mo does anyone eat the eggs where there is a male and female together, does he go about his business all the time or is it certain times of the year? I know this sounds silly but not sure I can bring myself to eat the eggs.

Yes. Eggs are Eggs until incubated.

and why would you have an issue eating a fertile egg anyway..I wouldn't want to eat a partially incubated egg...but there is the exact same thing inside a fertile and non fertile egg, unless one is warmed slightly to 100 degrees or so...Tissue that might one day become a baby chick...

Looks like a Pharaoh, but can't be too sure because of the angle of the picture.....You did say 1 male, because it looks like there are 2 quail in the cage.

Pharoah in the back. Maybe a roux dilute or Autumn Amber in the front.
