I currently own 2 japanese quail hens and they get along really well, i have them in a large guinea pig cage and plan to upgrade them when i get the time to. I have owned them now for under a week and would love to get a few more hens.

I plan to go tomorrow to see more quails and in wondering if i can put them in with the other hens without any hassle or fighting ? Since they will all be young and ill make sure to clean the cage out before placing new ones in to make sure there is no scent. Will it be possible or is there something i should do before just putting them together ?

You have to cage them side by side for a couple weeks. Then it is best to put all of the birds together into a new cage. Even when you do that you may still have fighting. Keep a close eye and if any birds bleed they need to be removed or the rest will kill them. Quail are very territorial and can be quite vicious when it comes to that.
