Ha ha ha Oh my ...... First time having chicken ...... this is an adventure for sure!!
22 girls ....... just started laying (well 1 has) 3 weeks ago ..... and another just gave me my first blue egg today! Yay!
Ok ...... on with my issues! My birds have lots of runny stools ....... and they are smelly ...... and we have tons of flies. I think the stink started 2 weeks ago when it was close to 110 degrees and we had 1 girl die of heat stroke ....... so the next day I sprayed the run down with water to help with the heat ........ and then the flies and the really bad stink came!! Yikes!! How can I reverse this. And ...... should I cut down on the scraps I give them? I only give them: spinach, lettuce, corn cobs, dry oatmeal, watermelon rinds, and either cottage cheese or greek yogurt about every 3 days. (So basically ...... I give 1-2 of these items every day ...... sometimes I might miss a day).
