Hello there everyone im new to this whole chicken thing by about 3 years exp and recently one of my older cocks is suffering issues i would like to get handle on if i can i have filled out the forum list the best i can and posted photos aswell all advice is welcomed, last month or so my chicken has gotten lice which im treating and now last 2 days he has gotten an ear infection which i don't know how since has been inside with me safe last month, its pretty cold winter rn, been treating him for mites with some success but his wattles n comb are very very pale aswell still while he recover, the ear canker is mostly scaring me aswell as his slight issues from the lice draining him. hes only 2 years old and i hate to lose my bird over something like this is if i can prevent it.
1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
Rhode island Red: male, Age: 2 years old. weight not sure.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
He's Eating and drinking normally and has been for last month or so and only last two days he has closed his eye due to issues with his ear I'm unsure what caused it since he is in a nursing bed/kennel to recover from lice treatments ive been giving him for about a month, first time I've dealt with either lice or ear issues with my cocks so all advice is welcomed but im thinking the lice have weakened him just enough for him to get a ear infection/ear canker i think they call them. mostly just sits around and sleeps the ear infection has him keeping his eye shut also last two days other then that hes eating and drinking fine like he has last month or so but his wattles are bit pale on top bcus of the lice
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
3 days for ear infection march 14th. and a month prior for lice treatments February
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No others. just him
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
There is none of listed issues above.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
as i said above i think it might be where he had mites and they have weakened him just enough he got a ear infection or they might be the cause im entirely unsure.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
scrambled eggs with garlic to help boost him and also deter lice/mites from feeding off him as well as his normal feed on top
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.

9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
scrambled eggs with garlic, garlic water, I've also used dawn soap and garlic juice to spray him 2 times a day to help get rid of the lice as well as a dust bathing with ash wood
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird till you can get to a vet?
treat it myself if possible but a vet works two if needed
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

Normal Wood shavings from the feed store.
