I researched chickens for 1 year..I wanted docile. 6 months ago I got what I was told we're long island reds. I have 6...free range..but cooped at night. They're red. But yellow fluffy tushy. Most are sweet. But 1 is Satan. Picks on the others. Really chases 1 and hurt her eye. She's the sweetest. Do I get rid of Satan..how do I find out true breed?

Greetings from Kansas, dallas123, and :welcome! Pleased you joined our community! Sorry you didn't get the RIRs you were told you were getting. I take it Satan is a hen as well? If he's a rooster some of the behavior could be attributed to mating aggression. But if it's a hen it sounds like you got a bully on your hands. Before you get rid of her you might read this article from the Learning Center:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/bullying-behavior-in-chickens
And to try and determine what kind of birds you have, you might take some pics and post them in this forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this
The folks that patrol that thread really know their stuff. Best wishes and thanks for joining BYC! :)

Welcome. I was just wondering the same thing, if Satan could be a rooster. Six months is just about the right age for them to act up if they're going to. Could you post pictures of your chickens?

Welcome!

If you need some assistance in taking care of your little one’s eye, the experienced folks in the Emergencies & Diseases Forum should be able to assist: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

I hope they settle down for you and you soon have a friendly flock.

I also hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

You've already been given some good links to check out for identification and treatment so I'll just say hello!

You could try caging Satan for a few days (with food & water), sometimes that knocks them down a peg or two in attitude, when they rejoin the flock.
