Hi,
On Friday I found a (robin/starling) egg on the bike path- at first it was the perfect temperature in our attic (which is poorly insulated and gets pretty hot and dry in the summer), but with a cold front the little guy's been doing time under an incandescent lamp in the daytime and in a little capsule with me (woo body heat) at night, when it's even cooler. I've candled it a few times with an LED flashlight- there's clearly an air sac and a dark mass, today was the first time I saw a beak-ish looking thing. I haven't seen any blood vessels or, conversely, blood rings, but the egg is really dark blue so it's hard to tell. Here's a couple of pictures; the egg in it's capsule (it's got insulation foam), and today's candling. I also did a water test, it floats, but little to no wiggling.
