I read a lot about what not to feed the chickens... but I live in PR And the 'bad' stuff just falls off the trees here.... So unless I go out every morning to scoop up the oranges and Avocados... my chicks have been eating them. I found one day all their faces were wet and sticky
... they all had gotten their heads inside a grapefruit and the whole inside was empty. I just knew I was going To have some Sick chicks....
but nothing happened to them...
They have been nibbling avocados too...
I try to tell them to stay away...but they don't listen to me...so I just toss the ones that fall off the trees when I see them.
But I know for sure that grapefruits and oranges are a nice treat on hot days for mine... I do get a bit nervous how 'alot of Avocados' might affect Them... but soon I will know. I have over HUNDREDS of them starting to get pretty ripe on 2 trees... There are going to be days I just don't catch them.
If I ever get a sick or dead chick from my avocados ... I will be Sure to post a thread On it.
