These are my first ever chickens. I got them 3 months ago but still no eggs :( can anyone tell me if they think they're male or female? Thanks

6 months now. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong! They have a box for nesting, lots of fresh food and they roam the garden most of the day. Two of them have been fighting but I read that can be normal in hens also.

They could just not be started yet. Sometimes it can take longer than 6 months for them to start laying. It looks like their faces are starting to redden though so that's a sign they're getting ready. Are they getting at least 14 hours of light a day?

Okay, well, it sounds like you're doing everything right. You could try to give them a higher protein feed, sometimes the higher protein content can get them laying. But it looks like they are gearing up to get started. The one in the middle of the picture might be the last to lay - you can see she hasn't reddened up as much or had as much comb/wattle growth as the other two yet so she might be a bit behind.

Ok that's great, I really really appreciate your advice. I thought I was doing something wrong or I had bought roosters! Do they need to have a really big laying box? Ours is just made out of a crate with hay

These are mine, made with 5 gallon buckets, and they find them plenty big enough:

I'm sure yours are big enough :)
