help!!!! now!!!!!!!!

I have a silkie, she hatched out two babies about 5 weeks ago. Soon after my Rhode Island Red hen hatched her one baby...approx 2 weeks after the silkie. I placed both mammas and their babies into their very own area of the barn. It worked out great .. they shared the 12x12 stall ...each having their own nesting box. However, we gradually allowed them out ...in barnyard... Everyday. This past week, RI Red started to take her baby into the main coop to roost at night with the other 16 chickens.... 2nd night... When I went to look for the silkie and her two babies... I found the babies in the 12x12 stall chirping for their silkie mommy. I panic thinking something happened to The silkie. I looked everywhere. I found her in the main coop hiding under the other mother's wing (RI red) & baby. I grabbed her and put her with her babies waiting for her in the stall. Next night ...every night we found silkie momma under the wing of the other momma/ with her baby. Does this silkie think she is a baby chick to the RI Red momma? Tonight I put the silkie babies into main coop to be with their mother. The silkie was still under Big Red mammas wing again... while her babies roosted near her chirping for her. Has the silkie's babies drove her crazy that she is hiding or needing nurturing from another? I have never experience such behavior as this. What is your thoughts?
I'm Clueless on that... sorry

my young ones were fine this morning. my roo was so sweet to them! my colombian rock was a little jerky but i expected that from her. she is very out going and curious. they seemed really skidish around the older ones. if they just walked near them they would all scatter and
run. is that normal? will they get over it? i didnt let them free range today because they wouldnt keep up with the older ones so i might wait on that but they were fine!

I put my chicks out in the coop inside a large cat crate (small dog crate) with the hens around 3 weeks. In the morning when I let the hens out I opened the crate door, allowing them access to free range the yard with the hens. They didn't leave the cage for 2-3 days. On the 3-4th day I came out and they were in the folliage near the coop. WHenever the hens would come to chase them, they'd run and hide in it. Around 8-9 at night the chicks would happily put themselves back into the cat crate, I'd close the door and let them sleep safely in the coop with the hens. Then about a week ago they decided they were too big for the crate (they're 2 months now) and refused to go into the crate. I changed things up completely in the coop the first night they stayed out with the hens in the coop. I moved the perch, I moved the food, I gave them a new perch, etc. I made it all new so the hens were more flustered than worried about the chicks. The first week the chicks slept on the perch below the hens but now they're all sharing. However, even though they've been officially sleeping in the coop together at night, they are still 2 seperate flocks during the day.
