Help! On day 18 and I think I will lose all 9 eggs!!! SMALL AIR SAC

I think this is the way I would have to do it. I don't know if I would be strong enough otherwise.

I just have to ask b4 I cull her,, does anyone think she has a chance? Idk what happened or what is wrong but I DON'T want to wake up to a dead baby chick, I would rather end her suffering now,,,,

Thank you guys for those links!

Ok, I went out back in the dark, dug up a hole, have very sharp scissors on hand, have lots of cardboard wrap ready to wrap her up and bury her. I do appreciate the links but for most, I don't have the resources on hand to be able to do that. I am ok now, not crying,, I know this is what needs to be done and I am prepared, I would much rather do this now at a few hours old vs days/weeks/months/years. So I am new and I will learn. But I can't keep listening to her chirping and if she has no chance then I do need to do this now.

I honestly do not think the chick has a chance. From the pics I would say part of what you are seeing are intestines outside of the body cavity and a leg that is in serious question. I am not one to say a chick needs culling, I am one of those that want to give everything a chance, but I can honestly say, I think this is one case that culling would be more humane. My 7 year old son was sitting beside me when you put the pics up and when he saw them the first thing he said was, "Mom, I don't think that chick is going to make it."

I admit, that was a dumb question. I should not have asked that...I guess I don't understand what is wrong with her or what happened to her,,,

I HATE the idea of ever having to cull a chick. If I thought there was the slightest chance for survival I would tell you to wait and do everything possible. But in this situation I don't think there is any chance. I don't think it was anything that you have done. Just like with human babies sometimes birth defects happen. You are doing the right thing. What you are doing you are doing for the love of the animal. You are being humane. Love your way. <3
