Help on some colors

Need some color help. I have an IB pied male x IB pied females that keeps having these females. I know the male in picture is purple pied as are the two center females. (The male is out of my Purple BS male x purple female). 3 of the 4 remaining females are near identical and the fourth (2nd from right) is as dark as a purple but with absolutely no purple color tones. The 2nd from right is cameo hen, the other three looks peach to me.

If the parents are IB Pied, and the only offspring that look like this are female, it is apparently a sex-linked split being carried by the male. Cameo would be the most likely, but since you "specialize" in Purples and Peach is supposed to result from the interaction of Cameo and Purple, then if there are also Purple genes in the parents, it could possibly be that they are Peach. However the bodies look very light and more like a BS pattern, but the heads look too dark to be Peach BS. These 2 are Peach and Peach Pied, do they look at all like them or are they a lot lighter?

I should have explained better. I know 4 of them in the picture are not purple these are the ones I am interested in identifying. The purples are there as a color reference only as pictures always look different than in person.

You are right it is definitely sex linked. I have gotten 0 males this color from this pen. As a side note for the past three years this pen has produced 75% females. They are a little lighter than yours and not BS as they were born colored from non BS parents. They do look like my BS purple pieds except for the head and lack of any purple coloring. Their heads do have a slight burnt orange to them. From pictures people have told me they are cameos because they were too dark but if so what is the deal with the darker one with no burnt orange. Are there light cameos and dark cameos? What would be really helpful is if someone has a picture of a cameo hen and a peach hen together. I would go see one in person but NE Mississippi is the land of wild IB and the only person I know with other colors insists his 100%Java and IB white hens produce 100%white Spauldings so I'm sol there.

I am gonna postulate that the darker one may be a Cameo, while the 3 lighter ones may be Peach. You know how the sex-linked colors fade in the sun, so I wonder if mine look darker just because they may have spent more time penned up during the past 5 months. Less sun exposure = less fading maybe? That burnt orange head color sure sounds like Peach while Cameo would be more of a Chocolate brown on the head. I don't think there are differing shades of Cameo, but I have heard that Peaches can vary, some being "Peachier" than others. This is another Peach hen, likely the mother of my Peach Pied, she is owned by a friend and I took the picture right after he got her and she was pretty ragged at the time, but you can really see the head color.




Your Purple Pied male in those pics looks like he has great color. I wish you were closer, I am on the lookout for suitable girlfriends for this guy.

He is very beautiful.Purple Black shoulder pieds are my favorite.

Here's one of my spoiled purple brats with his PBS pied hens. At 2yrs old he won't know what to do but all my other PBS pied males are 1.

He's gorgeous! Mine is only 2 as well, but I am hoping he can figure things out enough to give me a couple chicks this summer.
