Help! Only one chicken hatched. Do the rest have any chances?

Saturday 6/13/2009 one baby chick hatched. The mother has been busy with that little fuzzbutt and she hasn't been able to concentrate on sitting on the eggs very much. My husband and I have her in a fenced in area with food, water and the eggs and chick. Yesterday I bought an incubator and after it set for 8 hr. we tried candling the eggs and putting the ones with real dark masses in it. There are still no babies this morning. Do they have a chance or should I give up?

I wouldn't give up. What do you have to lose by waiting a few more days? You might get lucky.

Well sinse they are late you can start open them by making a hole in the thick end where the air sack is and then see if they are alive.
I do that with my eggs that didn´t hatch and the alive ones i then can help out or leave for some day more if they are avlive but still got blood in the veins.
Or else just let them be about 2-3 days more before throwing them away.
