I have a chick that pipped in the middle of the egg and it is a day late also. I usually help them out if they seem to be having a hard time. I want to give them as much chance at life as I can. I rarely loose one but i'm not too sure this time. It is an Onagadori egg and I don't want to loose it and I sure don't want to kill it. The last time I had a chick pip in the middle of the egg it bled to death before I intervened and it was too late. I also intervened once with the same situation and lost the chick after I got it out and I feel it was due to blood loss.
Is there a way I can get this little guy out without causing blood loss? I'm thinking about making a new hold at the air cell where it's suppose to be and working my way around the egg like the chick was suppose to do and taking the top off. Let it come out on it's own.
Unless it is already bleeding then i'll have to get it out to stop it. It hasn't chirped in about an hour and a half now.
Any advice?
