Help, peacock pulling out feathers!

Why would my peacock be pulling out his neck feathers?? He doesn't have lice.

Right now it's molting season for most of us. When molting they will pull their neck feathers out along with other feathers.

Molting for birds is a very itchy and uncomfortable process. The chick is probably pulling already loose down out or it's peeling the protein sheath off of its new feathers.
