HELP Peahen gasping for air and hissing and wheezing

My Peahen is gasping for air and hissing and wheezing and making strange sounds I have never heard from peafowl.

Well we took her to the vets and we gave her some medication and now she has healed but how her friend has got it.

It sounds like a possible respiratory disease. Did the vet give the other chicken antibiotics? What were they? Do you see a foamy or swelling eye, sneezing or coughing?

The vet did say it was an upper respiratory infection, we have been giving her some medicine and some some cream for her swollen eyes. she has been gasping and had foamy swollen eyes, I have had a chicken with the same symptoms and after cleaning her eyes and giving her medicine she got better in a few days.

That sounds like mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG,) a chronic respiratory disease that is contagious to others and can spread through hatching eggs. I would close your flock to any birds coming in or going out, to control the spread. Tylan (Tylosin) and a few other antibiotics can help treat symptoms. I hope that your pea hen gets better. MG can come back again during periods of stress.
