HELP PIP NOT PROGRESSING

I have been having problems with this hatch. One egg pipped,and I helped by making the hole larger. Now the beak is exposed so I know it can breath my humidity is at 75%. Should I put a damp paper towel over the pip. I just do not know what to do. I am very tired, only 4 hours sleep waking at five thirty to manually hatch out another chick.

It is about 6 hours since I made the enlarged the pip and the chick appears fine but has made no effort to hatch, no zipping, nothing but breathing. I just made the whole a bit larger and saw the tiniest drop of blood on the still gray membrane around the chick . I put it back in the incubator and will keep checking. Any ideas?
I have another egg that I hear chirps and feel motion inside. Should I pip it?
These eggs were placed in the incubator Friday 11/16 about 5pm I think I am entering day 23 HELP!!!

So many different slants on what to do at this point, but I always pip them by the time you're at to see if they're even alive. Then I carefully dampen the membrane and put them back in the bator if they're breathing. If the other one is still breathing, it could be that it's just exhausted and needs to rest before making that final push to get out. I'd be sure the membrane is moist and give that one a bit more time, then if no activity, go ahead and chip a bit more for it.

I agree it is so hard to know what to do. There were 4 or 5 this week that made no progress after zipping probably 3/4 of the way around and were literally glued in their shells, while others around them were popping out with no problems. I lost 2 of them by leaving them overnight, 1 is kind of slow and the other 2 are fine. The 2 I lost overnight were so far zipped I never dreamed they'd have a problem getting out. I'd say at this point it's ok to intervene.

Well I made the hole larger and still nothing, then all of the sudden it got the energy and out if came! A beautiful blue splash silkie! Thank you everryone for helping me. I still have a little serama egg to pip, wish me luck.

That's great! Hope some others make it out, too. Sure is nervewracking, though.
