I really need help! I was collecting my eggs when one of the had bumps on it! It was a Ameraucana egg. One of the blue ones. It looks like you can scratch them off but I don’t know for sure. Can I eat the egg now? Please help!!!

Calm down, it's just calcium deposit, harmless and normal.

I think they're normal. No need to worry. I've seen them on store bought eggs as well (yuck!)

Yes. Just calcium deposits. One of my girls does that sometimes.

More importantly, that is a GORGEOUSLY BLUE egg. The sort of color we dream of seeing in our nestboxes.

That is a beautifully colored egg! I'm glad you found out that it is fine to enjoy. My eggs often have those bumps, I didn't know they were calcium deposits.

This is a gorgeous egg! No reason to overreact at all! It’s perfect and this is far from a concern. Simply, those are calcium deposits, or excess calcium that was speckled over the egg.
