I have a 2 month old brown leghorn chick that has a kinked neck. I don't know what is wrong with her and hope that someone here could give me some ideas. I wonder if it is a sign of disease, injury or a defeciency of some sort. She is about a third smaller than my other brown leghorns that are the same age, so maybe she is just not right to begin with. She has had her neck like this for 3 days now and of course the other chicks started picking on her so she is now in the house. Out in the coop she was still eating and getting around but it was awfull to watch. She was actually hard to catch but since coming in the house she is scared and dosen't really do anything. I'm thinking of bringing another chick in for her but want to rule out disease first. I will try to add a picture. Thanks for your help, Julie

I don't know anything about this, but I did a quick search for you as I know you must be so worried. I found this thread

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=292818

she describes treating her crook neck chick. Try a search under wry neck or crook neck using the search function in the top right-hand corner of the page, there is quite a bit there.

Sorry I am not of any real use but I do wish you well

Thanks Cat! It really did help! I will try the stuff listed in that post. I tried to search myself, but I never seem to search the right words or something!LOL! I couldn't even post a picture of the poor little hen, allthough I tried for a while. Anyway, this sounds like what she has going on. Thanks again!
