Help please - advice on young Sussex going broody!

:barnie:barnie:barnie:barnie:barnieI went down to check on her to see if she had got off and she was off and there was a broken egg (with a tiny chick in it :hit:hit:hit- one of my BCMs). To be honest I'm not sure it was on purpose - it was so soon after I'd been down and she'd got back on that I'm wondering if it broke while she was settling - I'd put her back in the little chelter but she'd got on the eggs and sat down on her own. I panicked and grabbed them all and put them in the incubator. It was so hot this afternoon she may have needed a drink and got up and she is quite a big chicken i'm absolutely giving her the benefit of the doubt at this point. I went back down a while later and she was sitting on nothing, still doing the puffing up broody thing bless her. I gave her a plaster egg and she is sitting as she should on that.

Ideas of action from here? Get her more plaster eggs and see how she goes with a view to returning them later if she is doing everything right?

Awww I'm so sorry!!!
Yes, I would leave her on the plaster egg for a couple days and see how it goes. Hopefully you don't have to incubate them for the whole time!
