I have a silkie that was setting on 4 eggs. One egg hatched 4/17/17,and chick is doing fine.On 4/19 she acts like she is through with the eggs. Two were rolled out of her nesting box and the other was pushed back into the corner of the box. Her nest box, plastic dish pan with one side cut low for easy entry,is inside a plastic dog crate. The chick is going in and out of the box to eat and drink. I placed the eggs back in box, hoping she would continue to hatch them, but on the 20th they were scattered in the box and she was on the floor of the crate eating and scratching with the chick. I picked out one egg to candle to see if chick inside was dead. It slipped out of my hand, fell about 4" and cracked, big time. Some chunks of the shell even fell off about the size of 2 thumbnails together. Another chunk size of one thumb nail fell off the large end, where the air pocket is. I put the other eggs under another hen due to hatch anytime and brought the cracked one into my house. I could see it breathing,or a heart beat,so I put it in a cloth and put a 40 watt lite around 6" away from it.Tonight part of the membrane is ripped and a small amount of blood had leaked out. It kinda looks like the membrane is shrink wrapped on the chick. What should I do now??
