Yesterday I notice she had that blueish on her face. And a little swallen. I gave her some food and water. She eat a little. She seems to be walking ok. What could this be????

It appears the color of copper sulfate or Miracle Grow fertilizer crystals. Have either been left about the premises for this chicken to get into? Both are extremely toxic.

First, I would flush his face with plenty of plain water. If he's ingested any, he will need a molasses flush to try to get the toxins flushed from his system. 3 1/4 oz molasses to one gallon water.

If this rooster aspirated any of this toxic substance, I would not expect him to survive. This is what's in Miracle Gro : Total Nitrogen - 24% .....3.5% ammoniacal nitrogen .....20.5% urea nitrogen Available Phosphate - 8% Soluble Potash - 16% Boron - 0.02%, Copper - 0.07%, Iron - 0.15%, Manganese - 0.05%, Molybdenum - 0.0005%, Zinc - 0.06%

And I can attest to the corrosive effects of copper sulfate crystals. I aspirated some a long time ago when I was first working as a recreational park employee after being sent out in a boat on a windy day with no safety equipment to treat a reservoir. That night I experienced uncontrollable bleeding from my mucous membrane tissues. I survived, but a chicken might not.

Thank you very much. I will try this. She has been trying to get in the garage. Maybe she got something there
