***Eggtopsy pictures added***So I did a float test with my 3 eggs today and 2 of them were moving around really good. But one of them did not move at all so I was still hopeful that maybe baby chick was just sleeping. So an hour later I checked it again and still nothing. So tapped on the shell and tried again (still hopeful) and nothing :( So I candled it and still saw no glimpse of any movement :( Next step, I made a small hole where the air sac was to see if I could see any movement or breathing but unfortunately nothing :( I don't know what happened! I performed an eggtopsy and the little chick looked perfect as far as I know. It was in the right position for pipping but the yolk sac had not been absorbed yet. I know this little chick was still alive either yesterday or the day before because the egg was moving. Any ideas what may have happened and if I should be worried about my other 2?!?

I had one that broke through the shell and peeped for a hole day and night. I finally decided maybe I had better try and help here it had not zipped, it as like yours perfect yet the egg sac wasn't fully gone. I believe they are to weak and that is why they don't make it all the way out. However right after that I had 2 pip and zip, they were out within 30 minutes of pipping. I still have some in the bator that are due today, However I usually leave all of my eggs for at the least 25 days, because usually you get late bloomers. Everything depends on temps. If you are a little to low they will be slower hatching to high they are early.

Thank you! So my other 2 may still have a chance?! And after look at more diagrams, my little one that died was not in the perfectly right position to pip :( It's head was closer to the small end instead of the air sac. So I hope my others got themselves turned the right way!

Yeah sometimes they are in the wrong end. However mine I believe was just to early. It started to peep in the shell on Monday and broke through Tuesday. So I knew something was up when it still kept peeping but just didn't come out so yesterday I gave it a look and by then it was to late. My other 2 broke through and zipped in 30 minutes, so that tells me the other one had issues being so early. I still have 12 full eggs in the incubator, so today and tomorrow I expect a few more.

Good luck with the rest of your hatch! I hope they all make it!

I sure hope I have good luck. We just realized after picking up our #2 chick that it only has one eye open, the other one is shut so I am hoping that the other one opens in a few days, but it is much smaller then the other 2 so maybe that eye didn't get time to open before the hatch???
