Help please- Duckling Can't Walk???

I hope she is feeling better and it will correct itself. I got a welsh Harliquin from Metzer last week and she is tiny compared to my runners and the layer I got but she picks on everyone else. I'm rooting for her!

We got 6 indian runners 2 weeks ago, and initially I thought we'd be able to just throw the WH's in with the IR's-- but they grew SO BIG in those two weeks (freakin' dinosaurs!) that we knew they'd trample the tiny WH's. So we built them their own mini brooder out of a plastic storage bin from Target! LOL!

Yes, the WH are by far the tiniest and cuddliest ducklings I've been in contact with! I think they instantly imprinted on me too (whereas all our other girls went for my Husband instead).

Put her in the sink and put warm water deep enough she can float and user her legs. Mama ducks take their babies in right away so you can too. Just watch how she moves her legs in the water, you could put another one in with her to see the difference. but yes moving those legs in the water will build muscle and strengthen. can you bend her legs at the knee. range of motion okay ?

Thanks Miss Lydia, will do! Her legs bend alright when we do it for her…I just don't see her doing it on her own. It will be interesting to see how she takes to the water…

One reason for doing it to see how she swims if she uses her legs normally. The other to start the therapy, you know not to let her chill and once your finished just blot her off and plop her right back into the warm brooder. But hopefully she'll take to the water well like a duck to water.. Let us know
