HELP please. my hen abandonned her eggs

my hen had been missing for weeks. I found her 2 days ago in the bushed sitting on clutch of eggs.... had to move her because there was a snake sneaking around and a few eggs were bad and maggots showed up today.i got her all cleaned up and got rid of the bad eggs. the remaining lok to be pretty far along. Now, she has decided to move on and will no sit n them. I hae them under a heat lamp at the moment, I don't have an incubator and need advice FAST

Right now the most important thing is temperature. The eggs need to be at 100-102 degrees F. Find the spot under your lamp using a thermometer and put the eggs there. They must no get much over 102.

Do you have another broody hen to put the eggs under?

Look on the internet for directions to make an incubator. One year my students made an incubator from a foam bait bucket and had chicks hatch in it.

She went back to the bushes to sleep so i took a dog crate and put her eggs and her in. She is tucking them under now. When its dark i am going to carry her into safety and hope she is on with it. How long can the eggs be without her on them? I am so stressed! Was not ready for this!

It has been less than an hour, I think, since you posted first. Nothing is for sure but you have a good chance that the eggs are still alive.

If you can make the dog crate snake proof where it is as any move may create more problems.

It is possible that the hen will accept the move now that it is being done at night.

the dog crate is metal with good size spacing between the bars. I gently carried it to my extra coop ( only occupied y one loner hen ) so it's nice ad quiet. she was ok with the move so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed that feels the same way in the morning. I did google the home made incubator and will get things ready just in case. thank you all for you advice in my time of need!! I will post updates
