I'm painting a bathroom pocket door white and would like to paint a fancy written word "Occupied" on it, visible when the bathroom door is closed. The door doesn't lock and is used by family. Thanks.

Class door sign! I'd probably paint "buzz off!" Or - le buzz off -

Ran some phrases thru Babelfish for ya... Here's a few examples. I don't speak French, BTW... so can't vouch for accuracy!!!!!

n'entrez pas = do not enter

un moment à me, svp = a moment to myself, please

aucun accès = no admittance

pièce non vide = room not empty

Je vide mes entrailles = I am emptying my bowels....

It's occupée, an "s" would make it plural.

Although since toilet is always plural in French, that might actually be correct.

If you don't want guests to use it, use "hors service" which means "out of service"

Don't trust babelfish too much. It lies. I can always tell when my students use it!

"Ne pas entrer" would work (don't enter), as would "Danger, des odeurs dangereux"
