Hello there. I have a hen that I'm not sure her age. We have had her for around 5 years. She was grown when we got her. She's a buff orpington. A few weeks ago I noticed her leg give when I say her down. That was about it. Then I noticed a slight limp from time to time nothing major. Then one day it was worse. I isolated her from everyone. Now she can't walk. She has been in our house for 2 weeks now. She can stand if I hold her up. She eats pretty good on and off. Not drinking as good as she was. Her breathing has gotten short. I noticed a dark spot on the bottom of her foot the other day. Last night I was reading about humble foot. Her spot is not red or swollen nothing like that just a small spot about the size of a pea maybe a little bigger. I've never dealt with it before so I don't know about it other than what I have read. I'm not sure if it is bumble foot but it looks like it. My question is could that spot on her foot have led us where she's at right now?? I'm concerned about her breathing. Plus her poop smells really really bad!!!

A picture of the foot and poo might help. You could also be dealing with a respiratory infection. As your hen is that old it might be time to consider putting her down if she has multiple problems. But go ahead and post pictures and I'll see if i can help. If she can get better with treatment then thats a plus but if she doesnt get better you dont want her to suffer

Her age, breathing difficulties, slow lameness onset and smelly poop make me think of reproductive cancer or infection.
Can you feel between her legs for fullness or swelling?

i wish i could get a better picture of her foot but its hard to hold her and the camera to

i just did feel down there but i honestly cant tell if there is swelling. do you mean right between her legs or back behind them

She does have bumblefoot on the one foot, but right now, I would ignore that. It did not cause her to be lame. I would agreee that she may be having a reproductive infection or internal laying, or another type of infection. With her appearance of the lowered tail, being puffed up, and lying around, she is pretty sick. Her poop doesn’t look normal. She has a lot of urates and there is a lot of orangey color in there. If you could take some droppings in to your local vet, you could test for worms, coccidiosis, and yeast or bacteria. I would try to keep her comfortable, and offer some cooked egg, moistened chicken feed, and some vitamins in her food. Keep her near her food and water. You could try antibiotics if nothing else helps. When they do not improve after a couple of weeks like this, you may have to think about putting her down if she starts to suffer.
