help please **UPDATE**

Use glue in the ER all the time but where thats at might be dicy you need some monofiliment and a curved needle also 2 forceps knot is easy look it up on the web 3 inches soundl like 12 stitches also irrigate that out with some saline and then and antibiotic if its that deep NO NEOSPORIN TILL ITS STITCHED.. Pull the stitches in 10 days also I see you have other chickens and a roo keep her away theyll pic at her... Now for the fox go to the predater thread or PM me about electric fence and some tricks to deter madam fox from comin around... you could try coyote urine they sell it at nurseries in powder form fox with kits will avoid coyotes of course you could attract a coyote... Your gonna have to pen the flock she has kits to feed shell be back and the reason she didnt take the others is you or someone else spooked her...

Why do you think it was a fox? Did you see it? When a fox comes here, there's nothing left; no trace at all; that's how we know what it most likely was. Yours sounds more like a dog attack. First you need to find out how it got access to your birds, and fix that problem. Then, rinse their woulds with warm saline and apply some neosporin. Some electrolytes in the water preferably pedialyte or a product made for birds; would be a good idea, too. You pretty much say that the wounds are not too bad, so Keep them quiet and feeling safe, they should be ok. They will be stressed and quiet for a while, up to several hours.

If she has a puncture... you may need antibiotics, the Neosporin won't take care of a puncture wound which may already be in the blood stream...
Also,
There is a a site and I can't find it now, but I just read it this evening about predators and how they take or leave your chicken, or eat preferred parts.... Sounds gruesome but you've got to know what's after the flock. You were lucky and saw the culprit. Was she spooked and that's why she didn't take the other kills?
Hope your hen pulls thru...
Good Luck
