If they were alive when you opened them.. you killed them. Those are 3 days from hatch or more. Late stage movement is often very hard to see.
But if you candle the small end - if there IS significant clear/yellow - then the chick is no where NEAR ready to hatch - whatever day you think it is. The small end of those eggs would have candled with a SIGNIFICANT clear-yolk pocket. Meaning the yolk was unabsorbed.
So... they were unfortunately not dead til you opened the eggs.
