So one of our newest buffs has started laying...yay, right!?
Well, in the summer we keep our french doors open and Miss Daisy has taken to laying her eggs under a bench that we keep rugs/blankets under for our dogs! I have tried putting her in the nesting boxes but to no avail. I don't want her to get too used to this because come cooler weather the doors will not be open and she won't be able to come in. I don't want this to cause her to become egg bound or cause any other issues. Any suggestions?
Also, our older girls have not been laying for quite some time. At first we thought it might be from the heat and they had molted. But now we are wondering if its because one of our pullets turned out to be a Rooster and maybe this has thrown them off? Not sure! We are sort of learning the chicken game as we go so any advice or knowledge is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
