Help please

Hello we are new to hatching eggs, Hen has been laying on these eggs for 22 days now, 1 hatched yesterday but passed away .. I can hear peeping from inside 1 or 2 eggs.. do I need to do something? Any thoughts why the 1 passed away?? Temperature has been all over the place here .. attached a picture

I’m afraid chicks should not hatch out of the shell like that. They make a zip around the fat end of egg and pop the top off, rather like opening a boiled egg. Like this below ~

Was there blood? If so the chick was not ready to hatch, they need to absorb all the blood and yolk sac prior to hatch.

I would say do nothing, let your hen do the work with the eggs. Once they have an external pip and you can hear them they can sit there for up to 24 hours before zipping & hatching.

Yesterday we had another one try to hatch out the side .. today the hen seems to have all the eggs sitting pointy side down .. maybe they just need more time ?

Yes they possibly do need more time. Pointy side down is good.

They do pip on the side of the egg is this what you were meaning by the side?

Yes, there are the little white spots .. but they ( the 2) have actually broken through the side rather than the top ..

Hello, the 1 that started to hatch 48 hours ago has made a little progress but not much .. I can see it is still breathing .. but do I need to do something? None of the other eggs have any changes
