HELP PLEASE

I know from personal experience that holding them won't keep them warm enough. Do you have a way to keep it warm, like with a heat lamp, heating pad or hot water bottles?

Just make sure that if you do use a heat lamp, use a red one as a white heat lamp would be way more intense on its eyes especially with the fact that they ‘aren’t fully developed’

When I found it, it was very responsive, but acted like it was cold..I took it inside with me and warmed it up.. It's hard to describe it's eyes, it looks like the eyelids didn't develop all of the way. But, when I wet it's little eyes, they start to open.. But the protective layer doesn't go back all of the way.. Then the eyes seem to dry up again..and it closes it's eyes again. The baby has been with me since eight this morning. Earlier it could stand up and was able to hold it's head up.. I gave it some water.. and it drank. It has continued to be very talkative.. Now though it doesn't seem to be able to lift it's head all of the way.. I am very heartbroken and I have no idea what to do other than just try to give it as much love and warmth as I can.. It just sits with it's beak tucked under my finger, sleeps and peeps A LOT...

So basically you’re saying it’s getting weaker.
Eaither help it by putting him in a warm cozy place and leaving him there (over handling will just make it worse)
Or put him out of his misery.
You say the hen hatched out three healthy ones and then left the nest two days ago, leaving this one to hatch out on its own in the cold. No wonder why it’s so weak.

I did everything i possibly could, I got a light, made sure he had water, even found some Nutridench. I woke up this morning to the sweet thing gone.. I also woke up to find that the mother had killed two of her ducklings.. I managed to save one. Why would she do such a thing?

Could Be because the mother was a hen. Good luck with your little one. I’m sure you’re having a bad day but we all learn from our mistakes. Next time take the ducklings away from the broody hen and put them in a brooder or you could just use an incubator, whatever’s easier for you!

I feel so bad.. These ducks are the first I have ever had problems with. I would have never ever expected for her to kill her own. I am filled with such guilt..
