Ok so I am on day 19 and got home at 3 and my humidity was down to 30 and temps were at 102... Now it went to humidity 60 and temp 96!!

Keep your hands out of there!

The temps will fluctuate a bit when humidity changes. If you NEED to open it to put in more water, add warm/hot water to keep temps steady.

I've had the same thing happen to me with a homemade inc. I poked a hole in the side and the temp. started to regulate better. The humidity should be okay if it is between 50 and 65 percent. Add water if you need to. The temp should not go obove 100.5 if it is a forced air and not above101.5 if it is still air. Do not let it go below 98 if it is a forced air and not below 99 if it is a still air. Do not panic and nudge the temp. first see if air holes will regulate. Then barely adjust the temp every half of an hour until it is in that range. It is okay to have variations in temp if they don't last for too long.

Man this was easier when I had a silkie mama

I miss her!

It is really hard at first... it gets better! I remember my first time with an inc. it was a disaster! I swore I would never do it again! No I've hatched so many chicks and soon ducks and even hatched quails that I can't keep track! When your first one hatchs you will be hooked! Just you and that little one that you fought so very hard for! It's worth the struggle, trust me!
