Help please

I have 4 pullets born on the same day. One of my girls laid her first egg yesterday. Now today one of my girls is laying in the mulch digging a hole and tossing mulch underneath herself. She keeps rolling to her side to toss stuff under, she looks tired but was totally normal yesterday. Is something wrong or is she just getting ready for her first egg. Thanks for helping a newbie! The reason I'm worried is because she's doing this in the coop when she normally runs around the yard

I would have thought the same but the OP said she is throwing the mulch underneath her and not on top of her or out away from her. Just the wording sounds like nesting to me. I could be wrong though. I guess someone will know soon enough!

Well who knows! 5 eggs in 6 days with 4 chickens

Saturday-Prima laid her first small egg
Sunday-nothing
Monday-nothing
Tuesday-small egg don't know the owner
Weds-small egg-don't know the owner
Thursday-Prima laid a normal sized egg and Pluma laid a small egg.

Do you think all 4 started laying? Prima and Pluma are Australorps and the two that I haven't seen lay are BO.

One other piece of info that it interesting is both days I saw Prima lay were the only two days she's ever flew over to our neighbor's house. Weird right? Our fence is 7 feet!
