HELP please!

So my almost 1 year old americuno starting to make funny noises one night. we believed it was that she was spooked, calmed her down and sent her to bed. Then, today she started to make some loud screetching noises and is almost hyperventilating. she is starting to relax but is breathing hard. we are about to try to look "down there" and see whats up. I would really ike to know whats going on. Oh and her nose doesn't seem to be clogged.
