need some advice I lost one of my muscuvoys today there was only 2 and they were friends should I get another to be with her we do have 2 other ducks but they stay to there self and I'm worried we did let her see to grieve as I am too just wondering if she will accept another friend. I know I'm not the only one this may have happened to and I can lean on you all for advice and care

For now, an unbreakable mirror and as much TLC and time as you can give her...I would start looking for a friend for her - maybe a rescue group or veterinarian can connect you, and there is the Where Am I Where Are You forum organized by location....

Do you know what caused the death, and if possible has the cause been fixed?

It is very traumatic for ducks to lose a close companion. I sell ducklings in groups of four or more to try to protect them from ever being alone but I also sell adult breeding pairs and it is so hard on a duck to lose a mate. Ducks need to be with other ducks so it is important to find another companion ASAP even though the emotional damage has already been done. Keeping groups of at least three ducks together will avoid unnecessary suffering if something happens to a companion duck during a duck's long life.
