I woke up this morning to a dead Silkie in my bantam coop. Day b4 yesterday she was doing the standing around with her head tucked under her wing, but it was cool and rainy and she seemed fine yesterday, so I let it go. Well, apparently it was too late anyway. Now idk what to do.

Can I worm my bantam flock with Wazine when there is a mom with 1 week old chicks? And I found poultry lice, can I treat with DE and organic powder? I think she had vent gleet was the main problem, but none of the silkies I've had for 2 months have started laying is y I'm thinking of worming.

The chicks cannot reach to drink the water I will treat, but will it hurt them with the poo?

Forget wazine because it only gets roundworms, and chickens can get many types of worms. Valbazen is the best wormer, but pricey around $30. SafeGuard or Panacur horse paste or SafeGuard liquid goat wormer are about as good and between $9 and $18. These wormers are used by mouth, not in water, so chick won't be wormed. The liquids dosage are 1/2 ml, and the paste is a pea-size amount once, and repeat in 10 days. Toss eggs for total of 24 days. For lice, I recommend 5% sevin dust or permethrin--dust every 10 days X 3, and clean out the coop.

I have the safeguard liquid goat wormer, I forgot I did. Lol But... Will it be in their droppings to expose the chicks?

I use a garden and poultry dust ON the birds, then DE for bedding and such. Idk if its safe to use on mom or the bedding in the broody nest though?
