Hello,

We just had 2 baby chicks born a week ago. One died, not sure what happened. The other one is now is in the house with us. She was injured. Someone (another hen I am guessing) ripped the feathers right off her neck. We are applying neosporin and she is doing very well. But she is so lonely, we put a stuffed silkie animal in there with her. I am concerned. Should I try to find another baby chick for her? But, I just don't know what I am going to do with her? I am afraid to give her back to momma, I think someone will hurt her again and she is not fully healed. I only have one coop and run. Should I try and find her a new home once she is healed? She I try to intergrade her when she older? I really don't know what to do, any advise would be great.

If you can't find another about the same age, try hanging a feather duster in the pen in a corner low enough that the feathers just touch the floor.
Sometimes it offers comfort and the chick will snuggle under it just like under momma.
Hope it helps.:fl
