Hmmmm....maybe I'll try that. What's weird is that all the chicks are fine. I had the turkeys in with like 17 other birds and only the turkeys got it. They shared water feed slept together....it just seems strange.

You would have to confirm with R2elk, I think coccidiosis is usually more harmful to turkey poults and peachicks than it is to chicks.

Do you know if the chicks are vaccinated? That may be why they are not getting sick, or could be the cause of the problem in the first place.

I honestly couldn't tell you. I had ducks in with them to and that would just seem weird for a hatchery to vaccinate all their birds but the turkeys. I don't really believe in vaccines but I'm not against them if it saves a life.

The little dude has been on the verge of dying all morning. I gave him a little molasses water to help clean out his system and give him energy but I don't know what else to do. I considered ACV but I would have to run to town. I guess preventing the others from getting it is as important as saving this one.

I was trying to go a more natural route but if y'all are sure that Corid is the only cure, I may just have to use it.

If they are suffering from Coccidiosis then Corid is the main treatment that I know of. It replaces vitamin B1, which basically starves the coccidian protozoa to death. I think I remember seeing people mention other medications but I do not think what you are doing would get rid of the protozoa.

Do not give them ACV. ACV at high temperatures causes more harm than any imagined good it may do. Brooder temperatures are high temperatures.

Okay! Thank you for the warning! I've had so much good come out of using ACV that I tend to use it for everything-dogs, chickens, rabbits, etc. What's a brooder temperature?
