I would most definitely try witch hazel. It works really well! Good luck, it stressed me like crazy!

i have a 25 day old chick, I'm not sure if she has a prolapsed vent, because her vent is swollen, but she is also losing feathers from her vent, and her back. no one is pecking her; I'm so worried about her! i didn't ship her, but shes a bit younget than my other 5 chicks.

I know this is a few weeks old but I have a 1 week old with a prolapsed or protruding vent. Every day I have to clean the poop off and I don't know how to help it. Been like this since it hatched. I have prep h with "cooling" on hand. Should I try that??

Yeah, give it a try, won't hurt anything. I used it until I could get to the store and pick up some witch hazel. It works so much better and keeps it disinfected too! Good luck and before long it'll be gone and you won't have to stress about it.
