Help! puppy and chickens

Thank you so much to everyone. We have used the positive training method since we brought him home at 7 weeks old and it has worked brilliantly. He is smart and does want to please. This is our first dog and I was pleased to hear from everyone here about the training. So far - so good. We have trained him to do almost all of the above mentioned recommendations and will definitely pick up the pointers on the rest. Since he has all of the basics down, i.e.: leave it, come, sit, stay, wait (for getting in and out of the car, or anywhere else for that matter), the rest should come easily for him. After talking to a lady the other day who has used the shock collar, we started considering it so I am glad to hear that possibility is not out of line. We have never done anything like that with our pup so it is a tough decision and we will try the other methods first. Thank you again for all of the great proven ideas.
