I had to remove an injured hen from her flock because she was picked on so badly that she had a bloody head injury. She has been away from them but in a pen right beside them where they can see her, for several weeks. We had 10 in the coop at the time of her injury, but have removed 4, so there are 5(4 hens, 1 rooster) in the coop I need to put her back in.

Any suggestions on how I can place her back in the coop? Should I put one hen in with her for several days, and then introduced the two at the same time, so she won't be singled out by the others?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Putting another one in with her would be a good idea expect her to get picked on the first couple of days thats normal

Ok, thanks. How long should I wait to but them back in with the flock?

Here is what I do, I wait until they are all on the roost and it is dark out, I put the chicken on the roost with them and in the morning, it's like she never left. I even do this when bringing in a new chicken.

Thanks for the advice. I still haven't tried it. Do I need to wait until after dark?
