Ok you guys, I have officially become the crazy bird lady! LOL! That's what my dad told me today when I told him what I was getting ready to do...

I am going to start another batch of chicken eggs tomorrow. I went to pick up 2 dozen sizzle/silkie eggs and I was given a dozen barnyard mix AND 6 quail eggs. I was told that there are 2 hens and 1 roo but the woman I got them from is not sure if the eggs are fertile because she has not yet tried to hatch them. I am really excited to give them a try but have NO CLUE about quail. Up to this point I would never have even thought about trying them out.

So my incubator has an auto turner that holds 41 chicken eggs. I don't have any quail trays so I guess my first question is, do you think that I can add cotton balls or paper towel to the turner to be able to place the quail eggs in my chicken egg turner? Also my bator is a Hova Bator 1588 and preset at 100.0. I think I read that qauil hatch at 99.7? So I think my temp should be okay. Humidity I am not sure on. I like to run my chicken eggs dry and my humidity right now is running between 30%-42%; at lock down I raise it to 75%, Is this humidity okay? And lastly I think I read that quail eggs take 17 days. I want them to go into lock down at the same time so I was planning on starting the quail eggs 3 to 4 days AFTER starting my chicken eggs.

If there is anything else that I need to know please tell me. Like I said, I have no clue!
